So often, there is a great build-up to a special day. We think about what we will do on that day. We think about gifts we will give. The day comes, and we celebrate. Then, we so quickly move on to other things. This happens with Mother’s Day, too. We always think about our wives, moms, and grandmothers on Mother’s Day and the days leading up to it. Too often, after the day is gone, we go back to our regular routines.
In Proverbs 31, we see an incredible description of a godly woman, and wow, she’s busy! There are so many reasons why she is, “more precious than jewels (31:10, ESV).” She is a trustworthy, hard working supporter of her family and one who is intelligent, wise, and strong. She cares for the poor and needy, and she teaches kindness to others. Her family loves her, and she loves them.
So many of us have a wife or mom (or both) who exemplify so many of these characteristics! They deserve our love, care, and attention far more than just one day.
Why not let them know you are thinking about them on more than just Mother’s Day?
